About RateCard Lab

RateCard Lab publishes normalized 3PL fee benchmarks for DTC e-commerce operators. Every 3PL prices the same work differently — per order versus first-item-plus-additional, storage per bin versus per cubic foot, software billed weekly or folded into the pick fee — which makes quotes impossible to compare as sent. We collect published rate cards, normalize them into one schema, and publish every row with its source, its conditions, and the date we last checked it.

What we publish

The fee benchmarks: 241 sourced rows from the 23 vendors we checked — 214 carrying a dollar figure, and 27 recording that we looked and found no published figure for that fee — re-verified on a rolling schedule, with the commitment that no figure goes more than a quarter unchecked (every row verified 2026-08-04 or later). The guides: long-form research built on the same dataset. The methodology: every rule we hold ourselves to, in public. And the corrections log, because a benchmark that hides its mistakes is not a benchmark.

How this is funded

The dataset and the guides are free. The operation is funded by one product: the $993PL Quote Normalizer Kit, which automates the comparison method we publish free. No vendor pays to appear in the dataset, to be excluded from it, or to influence how a rate is presented. We take no affiliate revenue, referral fees or payment of any kind from any company that appears in these tables.
